Fifty years ago, an idea was hatched to create a resource for individuals with disabilities that would provide vocational training, counseling, and placement services to move them from positions of dependency to contributing members of the community. Three local Sertoma Clubs –Alsip, Evergreen Park, and POW-R (Palos, Orland, Worth, and Chicago Ridge) – pooled their efforts to sponsor and run this endeavor. With the help of land donated by the Lombard family, the Clubs opened the doors in September 1971.

Today, that idea has blossomed into the vibrant community of Sertoma Centre, Inc., which now includes a comprehensive community mental health center, residential services, and janitorial contract work. When you give to Sertoma Centre, you directly impact the lives of deserving individuals and their families. Your gift is positioning Sertoma for the next 50 years as we continue to meet community needs and renews the vision conceived all those years ago of empowering individuals with disabilities.

One time and reccuring gifts are also welcome any time of the year through our secure Online Donation Form ≫
