Programming Schedules Update, December 30, 2021
As a surge in COVID affects our community, Sertoma has announced a few changes in our programming schedule for the next few weeks.

Starting Monday, January 3, 2022, CMHC will be providing virtual group services until Tuesday, January 18. Limited 1:1 sessions and crisis services will continue onsite as needed.

START Program:
Starting Monday, January 3, 2022, our START program onsite groups will be on hold until Tuesday, January 18. Staff will host a one-hour virtual social hour per day and 1:1 sessions will be available onsite.

Community Day Services:
After a two-week holiday break, our community-based consumers will return onsite on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. We are asking that they take rapid tests before their return. In addition, we will be spreading the consumers out among 2-3 different locations on the 1st floor of 123rd to ensure social distancing.

CILA consumers will continue to come to programming onsite in their identified groups upstairs at 123rd rather than shifting to providing services in the home as we did last year.

The Illinois Department of Human Services’ Mental Health Division has launched a free-of-charge emotional support text line, Call4Calm, for Illinois residents experiencing stress and mental health issues related to COVID-19. Individuals who would like to speak with a mental health professional can text “TALK” to 5-5-2-0-2-0, or for Spanish, “HABLAR” to the same number: 5-5-2-0-2-0. Individuals can include key words such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” and will receive information on how navigate and access supports and services. Call4Calm is free to use, and individuals will remain anonymous. Once a resident sends a text to the hotline, within 24 hours they will receive a call from a counselor employed by a local community mental health center to provide support.
