Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering your time and talents is a dynamic way to help others and show your support for Sertoma Centre. Here are three types of volunteer opportunities:

Program
Work directly with the individuals we serve in our 14-day and/or residential programs. Share a talent like photography or woodworking; teach classes like crafts or computers, or just visit and play cards and games.

Administrative
Located at our three different sites. Provide help with filing, photocopying, data entry, social media and mailings for various departments at Sertoma.

Special Events
Below are just some of the fun-filled events we have each year and how you can help:

Housewares Show Pack Up: Spring. Our FUN BUS transports you to McCormick Place where we pack up donated items for our Super Sale fundraiser. Great for large groups – we need about 150 volunteers each year.

Housewares Super Sale: Spring. We need many volunteers to unpack, price and set up items from the Housewares show for a two-day sale open to the public.

BIG Event and Firefighters’ Cook-Off: Spring. Our largest fundraiser of the year. Choose to be a firefighter/ entertainment liaison, assist with raffle sales, registration, carnival kids area and much, much more!

Golf Outings: Summer and Fall. Volunteer at local golf outings by assisting with registration or helping with silent auction and raffle sales.

Candy Days: Fall. Collect donations and pass out candy at several south suburban locations.

Holiday Bazaar: First Friday in December. A mini-craft and vendor fair. We need gift wrapping elves, decorating crew and personal shoppers who assist consumers with gift purchases.

Who makes the best volunteer? If you have the time, talent and desire to help others, then YOU are the perfect volunteer.
